BOSTON – Under Seige Again

Earlier tonight, an MIT University police officer was shot. He arrived at Mass. General Hospital dead on arrival. Police advised all students and people on campus to stay indoors, as he is still at large.

Then the train station down the street from the hospital, shortly after, was closed down. Police ran to the Charles River in Cambridge looking around. They were told of a suspicious package near a gas station, but it proved to be nothing.

They ended up and are now in Watertown , Ma. a suburb about 5 miles from the city of Boston. Bombs went off and people were shooting at the police. One suspect was down on the ground, arms amd legs spread out and police were pointing rifles at him. They backed away, as they thought he may have had a bomb or maybe it was a suicide bomb.

There’s a huge presence there now. There are helicopter police, local, state, Boston, Cambridge police. Swat teams, FBI and Homeland security. They have roped off several blocks of a main street and there are armored cars, helmuts, bullet proof vests, etc.   A huge and unusual police presence.

They are still looking for a second suspect and are in active search for him. Some have speculated if they are perhaps, the two men connected to the bombing on Monday. No one will say, but with the release of the photo’s, people have been speculating.

There must be 50 police cars from all neighboring towns. I do hope it is the two related to the bombing on Monday. We’ll all feel safer if they are. I pray they’ll get them. They are armed. A video was just shown of a controlled explosion by police.

Right now though, I feel like we’re in a war zone. Pray for this city. Pray for the country.

About aboomersvoice

First and foremost, I'm a baby boomer and damn proud of it. The ones reading this post survived. Some didn't..We are the generation that crashed through barriers, broke through the norm and made our own rules. We paved the way for others to follow their bliss. One of the largest breakthroughs was probably equal rights and opportunities for women. Thank you Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan. We burned our bras, well, most of us did. We marched against politics we didn't believe in, staged protests not knowing we could easily be silenced by a bullet, experimented with drugs, meditation and guru's. We traveled with backpacks across the country and throughout the world..We had a voice. We had a choice. We had a mission. We had freedom and we were united. I am a writer, traveler, explorer, observer and participant in life. I am part of the expansion of baby boomers who still believe in the original message of peace and love. Take this journey.with me. Who knows where it will take us next ?
